I need some advice on the following (links and resourses would be
awesome):
1. Using LTSP on Gentoo and Debian (and possibly LFS), but would prefer
Gentoo.
2. Is anyone getting anywhere with Accelerated reader in linux? (is it
possible to decode the data files and write a client program for them?
just throwing out ideas)
3. What are some good open source Attendance and report card programs
(school records in general) or at least programs that run under linux?
4. Is a dual 1ghz; 2 gig ram; dual 10K SCSI 18 gig drives, 1 as /home
and other as /; backing all contents up to an 80gig ide drive enough
computer to serve 40 clients? (ps It works perfect with close to 30)
5. How can I setup an internal only mail server with a dynamic IP and no
domain name? (I dont need to send anything outside my network. They
have hotmail for that)
6. What are some good gigabit switch setups? How much $$$? And where to
buy switches and networking gear for good prices? (All i have right now
is a 10/100 unmanaged 24 port switch and a bunch of 10base t hubs!)
7. How do I mount users home directories under like My Documents in
windows? Is it possible? What are my options?
Any help on any issue will be greatly appriceated!
Thanks in advance,
Jared
