Well ext3 isn't quite the absolute filesystem, using ext3 for system
files, reiserfs for small files (like logs, squid files), xfs for large
files and a ramdrive (with one of those fs's) it closer to what I call a
good combination that makes stuff go fasteeer.
I'm sure you will find some appropriate documentation/benchmarks that
will help you make your choice.
