I'm having a very tedious problem with name resolver on the client
side. Any (really, any) help at this point is greatly appreciated.

Here goes:
My client box boots up nicely against the RH9 server. Since the client
does not have any idea who it is, basically after "Current hostname:
<nothing>" everything goes sour.

If I get the box up to RL 3 for a prompt, I have following findings:
- a proper IP has been assigned as set in DHCP-server (ifconfig)
- ping <IP on my LAN> is ok
- ping <IP far far away> is ok
- ping <any FQDN> fails saying: Resolver Error 0 (no error)
- nslookup <anything> fails saying: *** Unkown host
- /etc/resolv.conf has a proper IP for a DNS
- /etc/nsswitch.conf has: hosts: files dns
- a tcpdump on the server side reveals that there is no DNS traffic
  originating from the LTSP client
- syslog to server is ok

The LTSP has been installed on a RH9 box and have following version
numbers:
ltsp_core-3.0.9-0
ltsp_kernel-3.0.8-0

Any ideas what am I doing wrong?

Regards,
Jari Turkia
