Dear all
i had setup an LTSP server with ten thin clients with customised gnome
and kde desktop giving them access only to browser, messengers and media
player. Following are the problems
1) when a client logs out with specifying logout option in menu, either
by Ctrl+Alt +backspace or by switching off thin client, the user is not
able to logon thereafter . After typing the username , we get a blank
blue screen . Suddenly after this, all the thin clients hangs up. But
server works fine and i am able to login as root from the clients and
also from the server. From the server, again, i am able to login as
users.
the error message shown in /var/log/message is

2) Once the above error appears, i need to restart the server and
things are fine. But the problem keeps on repeating. Is there any
problem on running mplayer in thin clients. whether it will take more
resources? Is there any good video player that is thin and can be used
with LTSP?
3) The hardware configuration is
Pentium III with 1 GB of RAM and the clients
and Intel 845 Celeron boards with 128 MB RAM.
Whether it will help if i increase the RAM in server and in clients?
4) I had tried this setup only with redhat. Whether it will help me to
run the setup without problem in DEbian 3 or suse 9.1? Is there any
distro in which LTSP runs better .
Please help.
Thanks in Advance
