Thanks Michel, I agree that OpenOffice should be my solution but the problem is specifically Excel 97. It appears that my client uses Excel 97 in ALL there branches and over the past 7 years they have developed spreadsheets with heavily involved Macro's. Office 2000 even has major problems when trying to run these macro's so I can imagine OpenOffice would be a problem, at this stage.
Thanks for your input. This unfortunately is a prerequisite and there is no other option but to keep Excel 97 due to the clients needs. I can not even >change them over to Office 2000 or XP. Hey Wyatt !!!! Some of the replies told you about Open Office. If you'r going to Linux then LTSP; Open Office is your solution. Here I can open, modify and save Office 97 files in their original format without problems. So may be the same to you. Why looking for uncomfortable costy solutions, Open Office is free at: http://www.openoffice.org/ Michel ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
