Hmm... depending on your model, you could consider installing a Linux
firmware on it. Yes, Linux! Then, you can have everything you need on
the AP, forwarding NFS X and things alike to the ethernet server.

One detail regarding wireless devices is that I don't know, until now,
any device with PXE or etherboot enabled. So, you would have to build
an initrd of your own, loading the driver and then asking an IP in
this interface and doing all the stuff.
