Is my understanding correct that you are booting off a client
connected to your server through DSL line? Very interesting. Can you
share your configuration?

OTOH if I consider that on a 100mbps (not 100 MB/s as you wrote) it
takes about 30 seconds for PXE boot and assuming that during this
while the max band width is about 20mbps it makes sense that you are
able to boot in 5 minutes.
Only thng is you can try to make a cdrom with do boot and appropriate
image from rom-o-matic.net.
