I believe all the Xsession scripts are run as user.
My problem was that the script *was* run, as the user, but produced an
empty ${HOME}/.lbussd.out file, and did not leave lbussd running.
Running it in one of the desktop startup scripts was successful.
Since this is often an environment issue, I posted diffs to the two
environments.
