Thanks, guys. I'm going to play around with this a little more before I try putting Ubuntu on it, now that I've had some sleep. The posts I've seen about getting multimedia working on Suse all have helix and RealPlayer installed, so that is worth trying before I scrap this Suse setup. I don't have a lot of work in this install, but I really like Suse.
I've thought of trying SLES 10. It'd be worth the $349 a year if I can get everything working on it without a lot of hassle. I'd also just like to try it out. Ubuntu might be fun, though, especially since my boss and I are planning to go to Africa as soon as we get the materials and paperwork we need to get into the country. We're planning to start a couple of missions in the Congo. I wouldn't mind staying there for a while, if necessary. I've always wanted to do that kind of work. Plus, it would be nice to have a break from computers for a while. I downloaded Ubuntu last night, so if things don't pan out with what I try today, maybe I'll put it on later this afternoon. If I do go with Ubuntu, and can't get everything I want working on the 64 bit, would it be a shameful thing for me to try the 32 bit version -- and run it on this 64 bit machine if things work better in it? fp ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
