Hi

I've been playing about with some Wyse Winterms and Dell Optiplex GX1's
recently and have got LDA working with them after much tinkering.

However now I have turned to try out sound.

Problem is that the rc.sound script can't detect the sound drivers for
either type of machine and when I specify something in SMOUDULE_01 it fails
to load the module anyway.

the sound chips on the Wyse terms are CS5530 (on the chip it says CS and not
CX) on the dells it should be a CS4236
(http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ban_gx1/specs.htm).

my problem seams to be related to loading drivers, as when the term boots
the rc.sound script says it can't load the module (either by guessing or by
manual overide) but I can't seam to find any info on drivers on the wiki or
how I can move forward to fix this problem.

Any ideas?

Regards
Alistair

ps: In my limmited spare time I'll be giving edubuntu fiesty Herd 2 a try...
I'll let you know how it goes.
