Alistair, I had a similar issue with using the Jammin 125. I got the following information from Erick Tyack. It was successful for me. If your model is using the same chipset then I think it should work for you as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- Please make the following modification to /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/audiolist. Change the following line: 1078:0103 cx5530 #Cx5530 XpressAUDIO To: 1078:0103 kahlua #Cx5530 XpressAUDIO This change automatically loads the OSS driver for Jammin 125 workstations and does not require you to load modules via lts.conf ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt Schmandt ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thursday, January 11, 2007 8:00 am Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] Sound Problems To: [email protected] > Hi > > I've been playing about with some Wyse Winterms and Dell Optiplex > GX1'srecently and have got LDA working with them after much tinkering. > > However now I have turned to try out sound. > > Problem is that the rc.sound script can't detect the sound drivers for > either type of machine and when I specify something in SMOUDULE_01 > it fails > to load the module anyway. > > the sound chips on the Wyse terms are CS5530 (on the chip it says > CS and not > CX) on the dells it should be a CS4236 > (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ban_gx1/specs.htm). > > my problem seams to be related to loading drivers, as when the term > bootsthe rc.sound script says it can't load the module (either by > guessing or by > manual overide) but I can't seam to find any info on drivers on the > wiki or > how I can move forward to fix this problem. > > Any ideas? > > Regards > Alistair > > ps: In my limmited spare time I'll be giving edubuntu fiesty Herd 2 > a try... > I'll let you know how it goes. > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > ----- > Take Surveys.
