I've been running LTSP 4.1 for over a year now and love it. I tried upgrading to LTSP 5, but the video resolution was too low. In order to fix it, I copied the lts.conf file over from my 4.1 directory and rebooted the client, but there was no change. To further troubleshoot the problem I changed the "SCREEN_01" setting from "startx" to "shell," but it still ran the "startx" script. To check if the "lts.conf" script was being read, I purposefully put a syntax error in it. When I rebooted, an error message was displayed indicating the syntax error...so I know that it is being parsed.
So I guess my question is, how can I get a local shell using version 5? And I guess the followup question is, how do I trouble shoot the execution of the screen scripts?
