Not only that, but ldm wants to use the ssh on port 22. So you have to 
enable passport authentication on port 22 which means that you probably 
don't want to open up port 22 on your firewall.

In my opinion, it would be better if ldm could be configured to use an 
ssh on a non-default port (say 1022) and then the default ssh port could 
require public key authentication. This would be a little easier than 
messing with special port forwarding rules.
