Don't get me wrong I am a big LTSP advocate. No doubt these extensions
will make the situation better but I don't think they are minor
technical issues. Plus I don't think they will ever equal a fat
diskless setup for multimedia or very intensive cpu apps. But for most
things LTSP is awesome.

Here, Here. But I'm glad LTSP 5 is making local apps easier. I think
this is a smart idea.

Okay maybe I should have included the word multimedia. In any case,
I'm looking forward to LTSP 5+ developing into a system where clients
can authenticate with LDAP so that all you will need to do is chroot
into the LTSP tree and use yum or apt-get to install local apps.
