Thanks to IRC the parts are starting to come into view:
/opt/ltsp/i386/usr/lib/ltsp/configure-x.sh
$ /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/bin/getltscfg -c lts.conf -a
LTSP_VERSION="5.0.39"
XF86CONFIG_FILE="foo"
export LTSP_VERSION
Then in /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/lib/ltsp/ltsp_config I don't see X_CONF
prefixed with /etc, so I'm guessing that it needs to be an absolute
path.
Sorry, it's just much easier to debug when I know how things are
suppose to work.
