VNC has poor performance even in LAN.

I wonder how feasible would be to:

1. Install NX server on LTSP server - NX server provides disconnected 
sessions, far better performance than VNC or even pure X over network
2. When a client boots, nxclient is started
3. User types the credentials, and starts a new session (or reconnects 
to the existing one)

Anyone ever tried something like this?
