What didn't work for you? I'm just using it for a couple of hours, but 
everything seems to work fine (apart from that strange, one-way 
clipboard issue between NX sessions).

Reconnection also works for me.

I though about using a desktop manager first, but I was afraid it will 
result in two separate displays, really (i.e., you could switch between 
a NX session and xfce session by clicking in a top-right corner of your 
NX session - I don't need nor want that. Or some strange issues when 
pressing alt-tab).
