Hello Community We had a meeting today in IRC #ltsp channel, present for the meeting were Oliver(Ogra) - LTSP project dev, Lars (kl_eisbaer) - co-mentor and Jan (the_code) - GSOC project developer.
The discussion covered the following topics: * Although the application is in very early stage, we will soon have snapshot packages for various distributions available on openSUSE Build service * kl_eisbaer will try and build packages which will be available from server:ltsp * Jan has started looking at the documentation available for all lts.conf configuration variables * The GUI is planned to make it possible to create a group configuration and easily add thinclients to the group * Minimum required variables per task will be shown to the user, with possibility to add more for advanced users * Jan has created the data structure for lts.conf in the application and done serialization of the data structure in xml * Jan will look at python-ltsp module to see if it can be used, otherwise most common variables would be made available via GUI and custom variables can be added by users if required * We would like to find easier names for all the variables, wiki page will be set up, your contribution to this would be welcome :) (e.g. X_MODE_0 should be called something like "Monitor Resolution" in the GUI for easy readability) * "Why use c# (mono)?" question would be answered on the project wiki * KIWI-LTSP configuration GUI will be further simplified Head here for the screenshot, information on getting the code, the full meeting transcripts and many other details about the project: http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Easy-LTSP Have a lot of fun... -J ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
