Hello, I am using LTSP for more than a year and to be frank i have learnt it properly only. And my intention is to save some RAM and Processing power on the server coz i don't have a great network bandwidth, so i don't see any wrong in that and i am in no hurry. Its a requirement, coz its for an Educational institute and students will be bombarding the server for Samba, Squid and LTSP!!
Yes, i have read the documentation as suggested by the other gentleman but unfortunately, the file specified in the documentation doesn't exists in my system and hence the post. Another reason, why i want to use the local RAM is because, i see a 5-10 seconds pause when the thin client boots which was not there earlier. I am wondering if there is an option to use the Local RAM during the thin client boot process. Wondering why this is happening. Again, i read the thin client boot process and am aware of the initramfs and other processes.
