Can you somehow boot it with 8.04 and paste the xorg.conf that's used
there, so that we see the exact modeline (timings)?

KMS means Kernel Mode Setting, google it for details, you can disable it
by putting "nomodeset" in /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/lts.conf, right
next to "quiet splash".
