Non-LTS Ubuntu-LTSP editions are not really maintained, use an LTS one. 13.10 uses systemd-logind but I only added systemd-logind support in LDM in time for 14.04.
...or backport revisions 1541 and 1542 from http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ltsp-upstream/ltsp/ldm-trunk/changes yourself. Or ask for an "SRU" in Ubuntu in case someone wants to backport the fix.
