I have done so with

  sudo tlmgr --repository http://tlcontrib.metatex.org/2010 update luatex

which did not change the error, and with


  sudo tlmgr --repository http://tlcontrib.metatex.org/2010 update --all


Now I have:
   $ luatex --version
   This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.64.0-2010111216

Running the test gives the messages I append.

In that case, I think you have to update luatex from tlcontrib. See
