Friends,

"As a firm believer"... in Open Source (OS) it's good to be on this
list. A few months ago I tried to become a member (been on LUG-KE for a
while) but only recently actually made it. By the way too many people
confuse linux and OS. Linux is OS but not the other way around.

You may be interested to know of the following UG groups hosted by
dgroups.org (see below). I'm not sure they're very active.

My interest would be in an OS.ug group or FLOSS.or.ug. Concerning
practical issues like the power of OpenOffice and Apache (even on non
*n*x machines). But also big question like why OS is interesting for the
I(T)-community in Uganda (localisation, empowerment, bla bla).

Before actually creating these new groups we could also further misuse
this list until traffic is too much. For example Paul and his database
friends could indlude [db] in the header too make sure the non-techies
don't waste their time opening that mail.
:)

regards,
J. aka Jacobo
