Hello Luggers

On behalf of the translate.or.ug team, I would like to inform you that we
have a beta version of the Mozilla Web browser translation into Luganda (A
local Ugandan language) ready. We request that members of LUG help us test
it and let us know of any bugs they find or any general comments that you
may have about the work done so far.

We have not yet gone to the press about this effort and do not intend to
do so now. So please keep this effort under wraps until we have a fine
product ready to publicise.

For any technical information and feedback regarding the translation
initiative please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] while for general information
about the initiative, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]

How do you carry out the testing of this Mozilla? Follow the following
instructions and please note that it works for only the mentioned version
of Mozilla on Linux, Windows and Mac.

******************
Get Mozilla 1.4.1 from
http://ftp34.newaol.com/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.4.1/

Download the file langlgug.xpi from
http://ug.translate.or.ug/translate/langlgug.xpi

After installation of Mozilla1.4.1, point your browser to the file
langlgug.xpi (e.g. File -> Open File > Browse to where the file was
downloaded to).

The browser will request to install it but with a serious warning. Ignore
the warning. Once it is installed, restart Mozilla, go to Edit ->
Preferences -> Appearance -> Languages and select "Luganda (UG)". Apply
your changes and exit Mozilla1.4.1

Restart Mozilla and it will be in Luganda. You can change back to English
using the last instruction.

Your feedback shall greatly be appreciated.

On behalf of the team I once again say, thank you in advance.

Sincerely Yours

Wire Lunghabo James
