Now that u bring that up, I recently installed SuSE 9.3 for a server,
set up the network on the usual "eth0 eth1" . Problem is every time
the server reboots, the system swaps the interfaces, what was eth0
become eth1 and vice versa. This happens everytime I reboot. I have
three cards on the box so i do a full eth0-eth1-eth2 cycle over and
over again. Now I can't begin to tell you the frustration this raises
as I have a firewall and a DHCP server which need to know the
interfaces to bind on. Sorted it by using "eth-id-mac address" but has
anybody else noticed this?
