Hi Steve apologies for the ignore, haven't done what you want but read about it.True, the useful info for ng_netflow is in Russian and am still a learner :-) so won't help till decrypted for you.
Anyways have you tried "ent" [Extreme happy netflow tool] EHNT is a tool which turns streams of Netflow (version 5) data into something useful and human-readable. (Netflow is a UDP-based traffic reporting protocol created by Cisco, generated by Cisco, Juniper, Foundry, and other routers.) besides will it satisfy you?

Subject: collecting statistics from a switch.
To: [email protected]

Hello all,

what am i trying to do?
I'm trying to use ng_netflow on freebsd 4.11 'tell' flow statistics from a switch to which a number of routers will be connected.

what have i done so far?
installed ng_netflow ng_netflow- 0.2.5 from ports
some where in fresh ports i'm told to "kldload netgraph" and "kldload /modules/ng_netflow.ko" which i with no error being reported

what is the problem?
configuring ng_netflow to collect flow stats from the switch.

/usr/sbin/ngctl -f- <<-SEQ
    mkpeer fxp0: netflow lower iface0
    name fxp0:lower netflow
    connect fxp0: netflow: upper out0
    mkpeer netflow: ksocket export inet/dgram/udp

    msg netflow:export connect inet/192.168.1.5:4444
SEQ
where 192.168.1.5 is the box's IP address. This returns an error "ngctl: send msg: No such file or directory"

Has anyone ever setup ng_netflow and or can they still remember how to configure it?

One thing i have noted is that this software's documentation is kinda scarse (even on the lists i have been tryin to use they hint such things) so I'm wondering if there can be a better solution.

Thanx in advance!
