    try NTop: http://ntop.org/
The last i checked NTOP (unless they have changed) does not get stats from a switch on which a network is connected. It collects stats from the machine it is installed on WHICH IS A GATEWAY TO NETWORK.

It can also act as a NetFlow/SFlow collector
- the NetFlow devices act as virtual NICs

NetFlow/SFlow probe can be anywhere else on the network.
