XAMMP install under /opt (in accordance with the LFS specs) the last
time i checked so there is no chance it will affect the system libs,
how ever this is not the idea solution it is the slackers solution
because you now possibly have two sets of libs and binaries of some
applications.

That XAMMP package contains alot of libs. hopefully
they will not overwrite existing libs to leave you
with some broken packages.
