Both Ernest and Kiggundu Mukasa are a pricks. I thought the point of this mailing list was to discuss Linux and Unix topics. Not throw around insults to people you don't know. There are constructive ways to discuss the points i made and vice versa.
Ernest, most linux distros don't do this. They are free OS solutions that don't tie into off the shelf hardware. The commercial linux distros like SLED and RHEL target the corporate market which i feel Macs do not, they target the home market. There isn't a single linux distro that follows the same business model that Apple does. Most people don't care about the software behind why their computer works, but i feel that Apple's marketing hides the fact that the mac is nothing special. So my point is that i would never buy a mac, i don't see the point in paying a premium for a computer that i can put together myself.
