Er, sorry, $700 for 1MB/mo.

I've been quoted $700 for 1MB/s by Infocom. It wasn't handed to me on
paper, but came directly from their sales department over the phone.

I have one testimony from someone claims 512kbps for 300USD on a private
account on infocom.
That must be shared, as 1MB on SEACOM goes for 629 in SA:
http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Telecoms/9030.html (halfway down)
(I can not find pricing on the SEACOM website:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=com.ubuntu%3Alg%3Aunofficial&q=site%3Aseacom.mu+USD&aq=f&oq=&aqi= )
We also have a testimony from someone on the i-network list saying he was
offered 700USD for 1MB/s, if he paid for his own fiber. This was by KDN
directly.
What I am wondering, is if the other Telco's have been negotiating a better
deal with the satelite owners, and will also offer (slightly) better prices.
Did anyone get a nice quote from his ISP? Or are they just reaping the
profits? (Or worse, are they not doing anything)
We should benefit, basically, SEACOM is cheaper, about 4 times. So common
ISPs, where is that benefit?
