I (obviously) don't have much clue about the Orange network setup, but is there any particular reason you aren't running a local caching-only name server[*]? My favourite is unbound (it's in one of the Ubuntu repositories) and then you'd add 127.0.0.1 to the resolv.conf or better yet using the nm-configuration-editor tool.

The Ubuntu package leaves you without the need to do any configuration except ensuring it starts at bootup and no (local) network I know of blocks DNS.

[*] yes I'm aware of the slight speed penalty but I find DNS resolution is usually the quickest part of most connections.
