Good point Mark.

I sometimes advise people to have a second debit card, just for online
transactions.

That way, you only load up when you need to transact.
Transfers between the primary account and the second  'online' account
can be made easier and quick if your bank has online banking.

A bit of a hustle but it saves you the loss.

Online fraud is becoming a source of livelihood for more and more
people, just gotta play safe.
