Might be possible either with FrontlineSMS or Kannel?

Subject: [LUG] [OT] SMS to csv / DB

Good day,

'Ope you had a nice time, at MoMoKla.

Something's been botherin' me for a while now. Does anyone have a way of
automating the picking of SMS messages from a phone/SIM and then sending them
to a csv file or DB? The idea is to pick and store the sender number and SMS
details.

Sending an SMS via php/web (to a physical phone number) is ok as it goes via
e-mail to the provider’s SMS gateway. Is there a way to reverse this process,
via kannel, (or some other software) or do I have to consider using a hacked
modem and checking for the texts at given intervals?

Pl'se free to contact me off-list, if the need arises. All ideas are welcome.

PS: The cost of a third party bulk SMS Provider (like TrueAfrican), is
currently prohibitive. :) (DO they even offer such a service?)

FRANCIS.

Dear MobileMonday Members, Delegates, Colleagues,

It's been a few weeks coming, but I should think well worth waiting
for. The theme of MoMoKla's next meeting, 'MoMo Remembrances View a
Bright Future', will be a commemoration of the first MoMo meeting that
took place ten years ago in a Helsinki pub. And where better to
celebrate than at Kampala's well known Irish pub, O'Leary's Bubbles on
Acacia Avenue? We look forward to seeing you there next Monday 26th
April, starting at 6:30 PM. Put that down in your agenda and don't be
late.

In keeping with the informal, relaxed atmosphere of that first MoMo
meeting this coming meeting should be, first and foremost, a lot of
fun; secondly it should be an opportunity for us to get another
glimpse of the tremendous potential that the mobile revolution has for
each one of us, and especially those of us who have yet to experience
it, mobile health, education, entertainment, business and more, and
how to make it happen. It shall also be a great opportunity to
network with like-minded colleagues, some of whom will look back to
recall historic serendipitous meetings that led to great things to
come.

We have the great pleasure to announce that Constantine Bitwayiki, who
chairs a presidential round table on ICT, and Simon Kaheru, mobile
mover and shaker who gave a memorable talk at MoMoKla's inaugural
meeting hosted by Orange, will co-chair MoMoKla's 10th Anniversary
Meeting, and that our speakers will include:

Ephantas Maina, who will demonstrate functionalities of Crystal Clear
microfinance software's Loan Performer, capable of doing SMS banking -
taking mobile payments technologies where others have not gone before
to places others cannot reach.

Michael Niyitegeka, who will explore possibilities for how to harness
mobile devices to improve learner access and make learning a lot more
fun, as he tells how he has been using mobile podcasts and YouTube to
prepare students for his lectures at Makerere.

Kyle Spenser and Simon Vass, who will entertain us with a mesmerizing
demo, using a couple of off-the-shelf Nokia N900 smartphones, mouth
watering stuff that you definitely do not want to miss. Please note
that though some you will want to try this at home, be warned that
mobile apps abuse can be dangerous to your health. Sounds like fun.

You will be glad to hear that yesterday the 100th MoMo chapter was
launched in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Could you please reply to this announcement to let us know if you plan
to attend? A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

With kind regards on behalf of MoMoKla, Daniel
