Hello guys, I have been trying to install MySQL server onto my new Ubuntu 10 distro but with no success. (Been trying for two weeks now) I am trying to use aptitude; ' sudo apt-get install mysql-server' . also tried 'sudo apt-get install mysql-client-5.1 mysql-server-5.1' . Below is a summary of what happens: ps: I have checked a gazillion ubuntu and linux forums but to no avail. the forums say i should first run 'sudo apt-get update' , which runs some updates just perfectly. however trying to install mysql doesnt work. I have successfully installed other applications like apache, php5 and others using aptitude by the way. Check the errors:
