I once had trouble installing those same MySQL components. That was in April just after the launch of Lucid. The installations went well until I got to the mysql-client-5.1 where errors started popping up.
I figured it was a network error because I believe the cache must have all the packages. I don't know the ins-and-outs of apt-cacher so I put it down to the network connection. I just can't remember if I was using an Orange or a Uganda Telecom link. ________________________________ From: Bright Onapito <[email protected]> To: Kyle Spencer <[email protected]> Cc: Linux Users Group Uganda <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, August 2, 2010 6:01:01 PM Subject: Re: *** SPAM *** [5.1/5.0] Re: [LUG] Installing MySQL on Ubuntu 10 @Paul, ha! I guess indeed, something is rotten in Denmark! Crazy indeed! @Spencer, I will edit my /etc/apt/sources.list and revert it and see if i can be able to get this elusive server up and running. thanks!
