I personally think that there is too much book theory and little real-world 
instruction that takes place
lecturers need to be encouraged to work in the real world in order to 
produce/create students that can function admirably in the real world where 
they are going

You can go from Bachelors to Masters and to PHD without having really worked in 
any company then be hired as a person who passes on the skills to students

Might as well tell the students to read the book!
