Stephen Are you doing a traceroute to an IP or Hostname, I notice the end IPs for your traceroutes differ between ISP1 and ISP2, try doing a traceroute to a common IP destination on both PCs, reason being Google has multiple servers in different locations and your ISPs might be reaching different servers thus diluting your comparison.
Also assuming the second hop in your results is the gateway IP from the ISPs I did a reverse traceroute using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/visual-tracert/ and the visual path seems to indicate ISP 1 has extra hops in Europe than ISP 2, try it out and see whether the visual outlook answers your queries Cheers On Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 3:58 PM, Stephen S.
