My instinct is to incorporate said features into OpenERP. I do not know much 
about any of the systems you mention, but generally I have found that getting 
two large OSS systems to work together (particularly when all one needs is a 
few linkages) is like managing two large egos.

 In terms of getting the development done, I would pick up a couple of good 
University kids (or fresh graduates) and get them on it. Prepare of course for 
the management headaches.
