Stanley, As FOSS lovers I think there are already 1 million apps that could do with our love. Create an app if the need is justified for not just for the sake of creating a Ugandan FOSS app.
For example someone has been doing a great job of using pootle to expand the luganda language pack. I notice Zental has almost been 75% translated on the 2.2 branch. Fantastic! One area we have tried unsuccessfully to push is advocacy in government, I know a few enlightened souls do exist but that is a long way from making it formal policy. As we speak I hear gov. ministries are rolling out a large Navision based ERP. Is that really the best option? Can we not offer something more viable? Cheaper? Secure?
