*Hello everyone, i recieved this email from a lecturer at UMU that i had
just moved from windows to linux. Can anyone help me out on this?*
   Dear Allan,
I hope you are doing fine. I am also still struggling to acquaint
myselfbetter with Ubuntu 11.04, here at UMU.
But I think I am making someprogress. However, there are some programs that I
need to install into my computer, which I need you to know about in advance,
so that when I come there onSaturday, it will be quicker/faster for you to
do it, so that I catch upwith our transport back to UMU. The programs are as
follows:
1) RevMan 5 (This is a Review Manager 5.1.4 for researchers. It is
alreadyavailable for windows and linux in general. I have failed to get one
forUbuntu 11.04)

2) SPSS (This is a Statistical Package for Social Scientists. There seems
tobe a trial version already of Linux (SPSS 19). I don't know if there is
onefor Ubuntu 11.04

3) RealPlayer (Basic)

4) Google search (RSS feeds). The other time you had managed to activate
itwhen you installed Ubuntu 10.04. Now I can't do it in Ubuntu 11.04

5) Updating (Update Manager can't intall updates from here in UMU. I hope it
will work from there)

NB. I have managed to install skype by myself, and it is working. My Skype
name is adaktar. The Sound is also on now, and I can play DVDs without
problems.

If any new problem emerges, I will tell you later.

Thanks.

Joseph.
