Michael,

What programming language are you using? There are a multitude of IDEs for
each programming language on earth , so once the language is identified .

However there are other alternatives I hear being talked about Textmate,
Emacs etc.

Subject: [LUG] Notepad++

Dear all,

  I am trying out programming and my tutor tells me that notepad++ is the
best text editor to use. The problem is I am using ubuntu and I dont want to
use wine. I have googled for the best alternative to notepad++ for ubuntu
but the results are so diverse that am still stuck. Please recommend me a
good alternative.

Regards,

Michael
