The reason the results are so diverse is because there is no one right answer.
Ask three different people which cell phone is the best and you get three
different answers. Fortunately, unlike cell phones, most software for Ubuntu is
free, so do not hesitate to try as many editors as you want until you find one
you like.

Dear all,

I am trying out programming and my tutor tells me that notepad++ is the best
text editor to use. The problem is I am using ubuntu and I dont want to use
wine. I have googled for the best alternative to notepad++ for ubuntu but the
results are so diverse that am still stuck. Please recommend me a good
alternative.

Regards,

Michael
