Hi,
Every time I am doing any of the following commands, I see that the ping to
these servers goes up right after the UIXP, or if traffic is going around,
somewhere else.
mtr www.mtn.co.ug
mtr www.orange.ug
mtr www.waridtel.co.ug
mtr www.tangerine.co.ug
mtr www.broadbandcompany.ug
mtr www.smile.co.ug
I think this is caused by these ISPs not routing traffic to my ISP (Datanet)
via
the UIXP, but sending it upstream.
I can not tell for sure though, if this is happening, so am looking for
traceroutes from these ISPs to www.data.co.ug
As peering is mandatory for ISPs in Uganda, this would be a violation of this
rule by either these ISPs or Datanet (depending how you look at it), but to be
sure that local traffic is really going to london or paris and back, some
traceroutes would be real handy.
If you are on any of the above ISPs, and you could send me (or the list) a
traceroute, that would really be appreciated.
