If you follow LKML regularly, you'll know that this isn't the first time or
last Linus has been rude to developers (anyone remember the furore with Con
Kolivas a few years ago?) so it's just a storm in a teacup.

Sharp will either go the way of CK and stop contributing, meaning someone
else takes over, or it'll blow over and our beloved dictator will keep
maintaining the kernel.

It would be interesting to see how many would miss Linus if some of the
more abrasive high-profile kernel maintainers like Andrew Morton and Alan
Cox were to take over maintaining the mainline kernel!
