Hello guys,

>From time to time, i ran into windows environments (mainly from friends)
where i need to share files or something similar.

In the past, i've been using my favorite ftp server, vsftp which has since
proven to be buggy with the latest releases. I've since looked at
alternatives like proftp which works fine on Ubuntu, but won't start on my
opensuse 12.3. Gives the following error message;

Checking for service proftpd

So, i've turned to samba which works fine with windows 7 machines, but
won't work with windows 8(which most of my friends are using).

Has anyone encoutered these issues? What's the simplest solution for file
sharing between opensuse 12.3 and windows 8 PCs? Thanks.
