My experience has been that if you take the mindset of one system to another while wishing to learn, you learn nothing or learn slowly at best. My advice is you chose the one that looks the least like windows and emphasize to your students that they are learning a new thing. The advantage I found is that learning Linux properly can teach you the basics of good secure operating systems (and usage) which windows glosses over in the guise of "getting straight to business".

I have only extensively used Mint 15 but I wouldn't want my experience to bias my decision, that is why am seeking your support in this. I have a bad feeling for Win-Like-Linux distros as they keep the person in the windows thinking even when in Linux, however i cannot refute the fact that they are easy in transferring people from Win. I would gladly listen to any pointers from some one who has had experience with such issues even though the suggestion is not among the listed above! -- Stay Blessed Mayengo Tom Kizito <KTM> +256752602550 || +256782062708 _______________________________________________ The Uganda Linux User Group: http://linux.or.ug Send messages to this mailing list by addressing e-mails to: [email protected] Mailing list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Mailing list settings: http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug To unsubscribe: http://kym.net/mailman/options/lug The Uganda LUG mailing list is generously hosted by INFOCOM: http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
