See? That's the reason I suggested, techies start to get involved in active politics - or at least be in the know of what the politico are doing.
There are resources concerning what's happening in parliament - where most of these issues are tabled, debated and bills are passed or rejected. I trust Fred Bbale and team have done a great job ensuring diligent citizens can access these documents and info for reference and scrutiny when needed (and not just for those whose daily domain is legalese).

I know some will easily dismiss this, and then return to their more familiar, comfortable world of code and insensitive machines, after which, a day or so later, someone again wakes up with a "problem is with the government...". No, if you really are concerned, start taking part in politics. Only then, will you see the nation you wish to see, start to become manifest.
