When I had a bad case of tennis elbow a half year ago, I took to 
practicing very lightly. That is, just touching the strings and not 
depressing them. This did two things. First it alleviated the strain, 
second it made me very aware of where I was placing my LH fingers 
because if I didn't get them right near the fret it would sound flat.
