Separately I sent a reference for the "authentic edition" of the
Italian anthology (ed. Paton). The one you were looking for.

Yes, a good edition actually. It has the songs from Arie Antiche with good translations, pronounciation guide, facsimile if available and a more 'hip' piano accompaniment. I thought Den haag public library has it too, but perhaps not the volume with Nina.

Please do let us know what you discover at the NMI. The opera in
which "Tre giorni son che Nina" appears is "Tre Cicisbei
Ridicoli" (Bologna 1746,
Venice 1747, London 1749*) composed by Natale RESTA, Maestro di
Cappella
Milanese. You mention a period libretto with Dutch translation.
The opera (dramma giocoso) was also performed in Amsterdam in
1750
with the London cast.

I was wrong, I assumed another opera to contain our Nina. Here's something interesting from the Grove. Anybody has acces to these articles?:

W.B. Squire: 'Tre giorni son che Nina', MT, xl (1899), 241-3

F. Walker: '"Tre giorni son che Nina", an old Controversy Re-Opened', MT, xc (1949), 432-5

And whose idea was it to make piano versions?
Hire the lutes!

I'm often hired to play these songs, so they've made me a lot of money over the years. ;-) Great songs, anyway. Usually I can get away with faking something old on a lute or 19th century guitar, although many of the singers are so used to the late 19th century piano accompaniments that they want me to play these verbatim. But this singer is more interested in the original and, of course, so am I. Also, I'm much more happy with an original continuo bass, because then it's so much more clear where my freedom is and what the editor has added (additor...?). Someone on the list promised to send me a 19th century guitar version, perhaps that is what Roman was referring to?
