hi, Herbert, 'berbante'... for me, with modern ears, it sounds as a sort of mixture between 'bribón' (= rascal) and 'bergante' (= someone very lazy and also crook, like the Lazarillo, that famous character in the spanish novel from the XVI Cent.). Saludos, Manolo
